Henderson's Virus...

So I am more than a little pissed off about this now given Micks comment about "we should have done more..." they question is WHY was there not more done here in Missoula?

Bottom Line is this young man is and teammates like him have given their all to the University through their effort...the University OWES it to these young people to return the level of effort. Not doing all we can when athletes are in need is disgraceful!

This guy especially deserved better

And what exactly could "we" have done?

Don't quite get that. Did they send him to "Doctor Granny" from the Beverly Hillbillies? I'm sure there are good doctors in Missoula and he should have been sent to one for the best of care as any student at the U should be.

Look, Montana has fantastic doctors in its communities which provide excellent care for virtually all routine or regularly encountered injuries and conditions. However, the medical community is, unfortunately but expectedly, inexperienced in most rare or difficult illnesses to diagnose. Rule of thumb, if your GP and first specialist referral don't have your condition diagnosed and effectively treated within a month, head to Mayo or some other top flight medical center. Someone there will have seen what you have before in their practice and will get you properly diagnosed and treated. Any cancer beyond basil cell or squamous cell, go where they specialize in treating that cancer, with highest cure rate. You want cutting edge treatment, not what was routine 10 years ago. Unlike severe burn injuries where patients are sent to Salt Lake or Seattle, cancer patients, no matter how far along or unusual the cancer, are kept "in-house" Maybe with several hospitals in the state teaming with Mayo this medical community will catch up.
