What could go wrong?
Never seen that before. An interview request to speak with Simis for this story was denied by Montana sports information.

Perhaps Simis wasn't on the same page with his move as the rest of the program, perhaps he wasn't comfortable talking to the media about his shift. Perhaps he was unavailable because of a reason that is none of your or my damn business. This thread is about the game today, perhaps that should be the theme.

Simis article was a couple weeks ago, you need horse.
Perhaps it was published in conjunction with the game today. Why would the Missoulian be publishing stuff that is "none of our damn business?" Perhaps, oddly enough, about a Griz player. Perhaps, about the Griz. You know, perhaps about the team that played the game today?
When the fanbase gets a chance to see "the team," naturally interest accrues to the individual players, coaches and overall positions and performances. I assume that's why AJ ran the piece today. Or is this one different?
I think the Missoulian does a good job on its coverage; certainly feature pieces on individual players are a welcome part of that coverage on scrimmage days. When else should they run them? Just never saw the "program" refuse an interview to a major news source, on a scrimmage day, with a team member. Or "perhaps" it just seemed odd that the Missoulian would specifically go out of its way to mention it.
Nice overall coverage today of the scrimmage:
