Choosing the WAC means that your football program is aspirational. Most of the west coast schools will choose the Big Sky. UND needs to cut sports to afford FBS and it definitely would need a remodeled larger stadium on campus. It carried way too many sports from its DII days.

When it comes to moving up to the FBS talk I really only think that the Montanas should ever consider joining the Mountain West Conference personally.
