Answer - It doesnt add anything of value to our State or the game at all. Oh expect all the BS attacks etc by MSU fans. Thats real special.
I think you've been away from this game for too long. To me, your statement is equivalent to the dumbest thing on this board. I love this rivalry, and would freak out if we lost it. And every year when this thread comes up i have the same comments. I will never EVER miss a griz/cat game. When i'm 95, my wheelchair will need four-wheel drive to get me thru that shithole they call a parking lot and into their stadium. That is, btw, my biggest complaint. I would like for once to step out of my truck and not land in mud. but, on the other hand, nothing says college football like drunken, muddy students. I fricken love it. So my suggestion, don't pave the kids' party lot, but pave everything else.
What does it add to our state? If you have to ask this, you're clueless. Every tv in the state is tuned in. Go to any podunk bar and there will be a party going on, guarantee. It is THE biggest event of the year in MT, and people tune in from all over the world. I dare you to compare it to any other "event" in MT. E.g., St. Paddy's day in butte = i don't think people in Two Dot give a shit, nor does anyone "tune in" for it.
I honestly think MSU gets a bad wrap for this kind of stuff b/c our wine-n-cheese crowd can dish it but not take it. That to me is even more embarrassing than some of these accounts. i'm not calling you a wine-n-cheeser, hammer, some do have bad experiences. But those are the exception (and happen at both schools) and the rest gets exaggerated by our wine-n-cheesers. My god, it's one of the longest running rivalries in the country. And its FOOTBALL you bunch of pantywaists. I would actually prefer it if the wine-n-cheesers stay home because they are the ones that usually fuel these nasty exchanges, by over reacting. I've had plenty of shit flicked my way and i simply smile and say, "we'll see if you're still talking after the game." Nothing eats at an MSU alum more than a shit-eating-grin. They know they can't win on the field, so don't let them win in the parking lot.
