2022 Griz Football Recruiting- Signed (13)- Transfers (6), Verbals (2) Offers

I know nothing about recruiting. But his only other offer is Wagner. Makes me wonder sometimes why a JUCO guy wouldn’t have more offers.

I can think of two reasons. One is the decrease in number of junior colleges out there that offer football. It is a dying breed due to cost.

The main reason is one word. "PORTAL" Whey gamble on a JC kid who has played against inferior competition when you can get a kid in the portal who has played against established FCS or FBS talent.

Also you know the portal kid has already been through the academic clearing house so there are no surprises.

Wow. 24 out of state kids, 7 North Dakotans, I know it’s slim pickings within the state but is out of state tuition any higher than in state?

Hard to be a successful team when you only recruit in state. NDSU is so dominant because they get texas guys and Cali guys and guys all over that can really play ball. It’s either continue the tradition of in state talent or a school that wins 9 nattys in 11 years.

Seen this guy on TV this season. I was impressed with him. So stoked he will be leading a more potent Griz offense in 2022!

Lucas Johnson and SDSU finished the season ranked #25 in the nation.

Johnson had had an injury filled college football career, in the ACC at Georgia Tech and the Mountain West at San Diego State.

Seems like a positiive that his first OV on the 13th is to Griz

If I was a betting man, I’d guess he verbals within a few days of visiting. Will be here for the basketball game.

Agreed. Might sound silly but the guy just looks like and carries himself like a QB1. Has obvious physical talent and a lot of charisma. I dont like bringing in 1 and done transfers but I'm on board with this one.

It seems he took all offers down, not sure who the Griz are in competition with.

I’m guessing we are again some serious competition just by reading comments one says Kansas and the one with the gators on it I’m guessing is Florida.

A former CSU D-1 commit and top LB in Colorado has re-opened his recruitment. 3x All-State selection. 2x Team Captain. 6’1” 210 who is physical with ELITE speed. 4.56 40

Eww! I'm pretty sure he had better FBS offers than that. It's ok, I think we're probably gonna get that JUCO kid that's visiting today. He seems pretty excited about the thought of being a Griz.

I figured we didn’t have a chance in hell with Seldon and that he’d stay FBS. I mean he was a Michigan CB so the likelihood of a guy like that dropping down to FCS was .0000000000001%

Las Cruces is kind of a neat little town. :| :|

Um, (respectfully, because I like you) no. There ARE some really neat places in New Mexico but Cruces isn't one of them. And both UM and NMSU are TERRIBLE in football so I hope this guy likes losing. (If you were in fact being sarcastic then I agree 100%.)

Yeah it’s FBS technically but worse facilities, no support, no tv deal, losing culture etc. that is an objectively worse place to be for a football program. They shouldn’t be a FBS team.
