He lost nearly 60 lb. He really does look great in person.

IMG is also a football powerhouse

Regarding Jack Payne from Boise High (I guess you pulled his tweet.), I got this from a Bobcat relative living in Boise:

I know Jack. Worked the snack shack with his Mom in baseball and went to a few of his football and basketball games. A stud athlete relocated here from CA about 4 or 5 years ago. Could be a 2 sport athlete at Grizville. Boise High football quarterback which is the equivalent of being sacrificed at a gladiator event. Lots of hits and not much protection for him. He didn't start playing football until his sophomore year in high school. First as a tight end/receiver. Then last year as a quarterback. Very strong arm. He can jump through the roof in basketball. Two handed ally oop dunks when he was a 6'3" freshman in high school. Just got bigger, stronger and more athletic. Our Bobcats should be recruiting. him. Still lots of raw talent.

Good luck. Hope it works out for you and Jack. I suspect Jack is getting some looks from a few other schools also. Will be interesting to see what he chooses. He was also a decent baseball player.

With this being our main recruiting camp of the summer I’m very surprised that we haven’t seen more offers

Grizfan, I agree. My best “guess” is the coaching staff are holding back until after the July 31 Individual Camp II. I also wonder if like the 2021 graduating class of signees, is the NCAA giving all current players one extra year of eligibility significantly reducing how many scholarships, PWO’s and roster spots are available. With a roster of 110 players and only 85 scholarships, that extra year of eligibility could affect how many early offers the Griz are able to give out for years to come.

I’m not sure how that recruiting is working but I thought for sure we’d offer the top player in the state who I heard was at camp, can’t get one if we don’t get the other and msu seems to be leading for them. Hope to see a few more in the next few days as I heard this was our main recruiting camp and July 31st camp will be a small one.

FCS scholarship limits are 63.

The FCS allows, and the Griz football program in particular, has 85 players on scholarship. FCS is only allowed 63 “full” scholarships, but the Griz football program has never done that. Like the FBS the FCS is still allowed to offer up to 85 scholarships. Unlike the FBS, the FCS can give partial scholarships. The FCS football programs and Griz can break that up between full ride and partials. That way they are able to offer 85 players on the team from full to partial scholarships. This Wikipedia link gives a good description of the scholarship allowance and how it works.

Zach Crews is the top prospect in the state in my opinion. We have offered him. So not sure who ‘84 is referring to.

According to scout Caden Dowler is the #1 player in the state and #2 is Taco Dowler we’ve offered Taco but not Caden and it’s been said by their mom they are a package deal they don’t want to chose which son to watch each week.

This will be a smaller class because of our numbers. Hauck has said that several times in interviews and that if you don’t come to camp you probably won’t get offered. However, it’s been like a day so I would not be worried yet. This is also how Hauck recruits whether it’s right, wrong or indifferent. Seems like we have this convo every year since Hauck took over. His takes staff takes their time, narrows their list and builds relationships prior to sending official offers in August.
