I think you probably have your Mater Dei's mixed up. While his school is a solid program in the San Diego area, they are nowhere near the national powerhouse that the Mater Dei up I-5 is. Good get no matter where he's playing though!

Oh. You would be correct. I wasn’t aware there were two.

I think this Mater Dei Catholic in San Diego still went undefeated and won the cali AA state chipper last season

Wonder when we’ll start seeing more partials come out for us there is a few I’d love to see us offer especially legacy kids.

There should be a decent amount of visits this weekend for homecoming, of course you already knew that 84 but just pointing it out for others. Maybe we'll see a few new offers next week.

Jalen Hall is an interesting player, I love his film from Junior year and he if fast.

Mater Dei near San Diego was very highly thought of coming into this season, ranked I believe #2 in the state at their level.
However they have started out 0-4 playing some really tough competition.
I haven't found much film or stats from this year

Why is this guy retweeting all the UI stuff?:?

specifically Roshaun Johnson, who went to the same high school.

The CIS San Diego Section levels their competition for football every couple of years. They use a rolling average record and some other metrics to ensure balance. They can't classify based upon school size since most of the schools are 1,500 to 2,500 on average, so they have to measure it based upon performance and success.

Mater Dei (which is in Chula Vista) competed last year at DIII and is playing against D1 opponents this year. That is an absolute gigantic leap in classification and talent level you are facing. Aside from local rivals, your schedule is geared by the level that you are at. Mater Dei had a great two year run, that included a CIS championship last year at DIII, and graduated a bunch of their talent. That D1 and Open division level is ruthless gauntlet and Mater Dei is feeling that pain this year. That division includes Helix, Cathedral Catholic, Madison and the two North County powers (Carlsbad and El Camino) are just loaded with FBS talent. The division also includes Steele Canyon (home of reserve DB Robert Whitehead) , that like Mater Dei rose from DIII/DIV levels in 2018-19, and has managed to stick. Most teams that are in the realm of Steele Canyon, Mater Dei don't stick and drop like a rock to one of the lower divisions again. A good example of that is Valhalla, which was Division 1 in 2018 is now relegated to Division IV which is replete with the worst teams in San Diego County.

Anyhow, if Hall is producing at the D1 in San Diego Section which he is, it is a good indicator of his overall ability.

Don’t know where to put this, but does anyone know anything about a kid named Parker Awad? 2023 QB from Edison High in HB, CA. I watched him throw for 335 and 4 TDs last night. It wasn’t a typical HS “stats” performance. He made all the throws and must’ve completed 70%. Very mobile. He transferred from Mater Dei (the #1 in the nation one) last season. Edison is 5-0 and ranked like #8 or 10 in all of CA.

6-1, 185. 24/7 lists him as a 3 star with no college offers. I don’t know the kid, but it seems like he could play somewhere. Can’t find any college info online.
