LadyGriz Lady Griz Recruiting: 2024+

Could def see Waddington committing to LG..if so very good get in our opinion. Very versatile with high upside if she is a worker.

Waddington is a great get for the Lady Griz. Her game has really taken off the past few months and, as BSB noted, she’s still got a lot of untapped potential with unique combination of length and athleticism. Not a lot of 6-3 wings in the Big Sky.

Her offers included EWU, Nevada, UCSD, Utah State, Grand Canyon, Utah Valley, Hawaii, Portland, Seattle, Fresno State, Idaho, Colorado State, NAU, Santa Clara, Sacramento State, and Davidson.

With the addition of Waddington, the updated 24-25 roster:
- Fr. Avery Waddington
- So. Adria Lincoln
- So. Macey Huard
- So. Macy Donarski
- RS-So. Draya Wacker
- Jr. Mack Konig
- Jr. Libby Stump
- Jr. Alex Pirog
- Jr. Lauren Dick
- RS-Jr. Keeli Burton Oliver
- Sr. Dani Bartsch
- Sr. MJ Bruno
- Sr. Haley Huard
- RS-Sr. Imogen Greenslade

That’s 13 scholarship players and one walk on. With the recent Liz Gentry offer it’s pretty clear Holsinget still wants a post player in that class.

Thank you for this, Oregon State Fan. You've been just what this Board needed. Between you and Holsinger, you've completely turned around my attitude about the Lady Griz--from feeling the program had hit a dead-end post Selvig while watching the Bobcats eclipse us, to being now more optimistic about the program than ever.

Yes, I too would like to see us get taller. I was all-in on small ball for a long time, before everybody at any height became proficient at shooting from long range. I'm sensing that even in the pro's, bigs are back in vogue, especially with Wembanyama coming aboard. My God, is this kid tall! I saw a picture of him the other day standing next to a much smaller player I didn't immediately recognize, only to realize a few moments later that player was the Stifle Tower, Rudy Gobert. The game is evolving, and I hope the Lady Griz are on the side of evolution.

6-3 F Liz Gentry has been offered. Same AAU club as Macey:

I was wondering, have the possible LG recruits that have been offered been on an official visit to the campus and a tour of the athletic facilities?
Might help on their commitment.

None that I’m aware of yet. Coppinger and Howell are long shots at this point. Both are top-50 recruits with loads of major offers.

I assume the staff will try to get Gentry on a visit. She’s LDS, so you never know how much that will factor into her choice. She has a good relationship with Macey Huard.

We’re nearing the end of the AAU season, so things should start heating up.

A couple more possible prospects/recruits for the [Class of 2025]. One from Kennewick, Washington a Dylyn Dress 5'11" SG/SF:..who plays like a hardened criminal (in a good way)..:

Another from Wilsonville, Oregon 6'3" W/P/SF/SG Payton Radcliffe:

And from New Haven, Missouri, if the LG recruit that far away, that is, a Sophia Otten, 6'2" P/PF (reminds me of a Brenda Souther that once played back in the day with Eastern Washington and/or Dee Dee Goble that played for Cal Poly), if anyone around here remembers those names:

And if not BB, I hear she's a pretty decent 3B in softball:

Did you see the pic of Wemby standing next to The Admiral and Timmy? Holy crap!

Sure do like the game that Addison Deal [Class of 2025] 6'0" from Materi Dei High School, Ladera Ranch, Ca., brings to the court:

Off the board

Liz Gentry has picked up some impressive offers after the last live period: Vanderbilt, Grand Canyon, Santa Clara, and Marshall. Will be a tough recruiting battle for the Lady Griz.

Reagan Jamison of Camas, Washington has committed to University of Pennsylvania @ Wharton. Gabby Betton of Lakeville, Minnesota has committed to Loyola University - Maryland. Harper Peterson, a 6'3" four-star out of Whitney, Calf., has committed to UC-Davis.

Absolutely no shot at this kid.
She is the real deal though.
And MD is in Santa Ana CA.

Sorry. Guess I was but scanning what ESPN stated on home town, etc. Just how many 3- to 4- star rated players are there now with the international prospects showing up after fifty years of exposure to such a sport, anyways. Pretty soon the parity is eventually going to show up so it isn't completely out of the question that a supposed mid-major can recruit a four-star like UC Davis acquired recently from a Harper Peterson.

Always exceptions and outliers to thr recruiting game. Better off finding one of these types in the portal after a few yrs of no PT or not happy with situation.

The stars next to a name or being ranked in the top 100 doesn't really mean anything. Most people who provide those rankings are the same people promoting the same players from the same programs.

The guys game is filled with people doing favors for recruiting and program clout. When you say parity that is how that will work out in the girls game as well. All these prep scouts and evaluators attaching to specific programs and then over promoting those same players. Addie Deal is at least a 1 yr holdback. Would she be rankiled as high with her original grad class? Who knows but this is where stars and rankings are deceiving 19 yr old grad senior holdback vs a 17 or 18 yr old. Big difference in determining potential and upside.

With the recent stockpiling of guards and wings, Liz Gentry sounds like the type of player the Lady Griz could use:

She’s got a good relationship with the Huards, but she’s been adding some big time offers and may continue to after this weekend.

Well, watching her (Addison Deal's) demeanor of play and aggressiveness near the basket, game vision, mannerism's and shooting style reminds me very much of the style that Mackendra König brings to the game. The following is Addison Deal (#3) going up against McKinley Willardson's team of Santiago High School of Corona, California (Sixth video down on the listing provided) and much of her time on the court highlighted is reminiscent of König:

And since there is a player from Wisconsin on our team there also happens to be for the [Class of 2025] a Rainey Welson, a 5'9" PG/SG from Hortonville that looks pretty good (even in the 7th grade #4): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F8TJO_Zs-rY

And just how many of the 352 + Division One NCAA teams out of the 32 Conferences are not going to line up for the likes of Maddy Greenway [Class of 2026]?
