LadyGriz Lady Griz Recruiting: 2024+

O.K. Had my one rant for the year. Nothing personal. Plenty of good work left to be done. Well, back to what the Title of this here thread is supposedly about:..speculation and all that. Be interesting if the LG offered McKylee Hawkins. Her rebounding/defense under the basket reminds me of Ann Lake, though an inch shorter at 5'11".

Maybe the LG are scouting out either/or:

...said by PrepGirlsHoops.com ...to be 'a developing post prospect with Division 1 potential...' 6'2' P/PF [Class2024] from 4A Woodinville, Washington

...[Class2024] Naima Joseph, a 6'5" post from Garfield, Washington:

Naima Joseph played for same program as Avery Waddington. Big body and soft hands. Finishes around the basket with both hands. Has offers from GNAC schools as well as Vanguard(?).

And WyoGriz....Thank you for your service to our country. That def is more serious than an hoops talk. So again. Thank you.

Maybe the LG are scouting out the likes of Jazmyn Shipp, a 6'1" P/PF from Bonney Lake, Washington [Classof2024]. The 2X PCL 3A MVP that averaged 17 ppg 12.7 rpg 4 apg with 52 % FG and 79 % FT

Here is a young lady that would be of value in BSC. Originally committed to Minnesota. Coaching change and now available. Didnt have a productive spring and summer coming off injury, but upside is huge. Getting D2 and JUCO looks. If she ever returned to her pre injury form she could be a huge impact in the BSC.

I fully agree. That'd be the top two possible recruits I'd consider for [Classof2024] remaining. McKylee Hawkins and Alyssa Wirth.

Offer for 2025 6-3 F Emily VanTimmeren:

She's been offered by quite a few!

Or maybe the LG Staff are scouting out the likes of Giovanna Horner, a 5'7" PG/SG from Loyola Sacred Heart HS:

At the hoop club luncheon Sunday, Coach said that he had a verbal commitment from Coeur d'Alene.

I believe that would have been referring to Avery Waddington. Still a few open scholarships for 2024.

And I like the idea of, if ever possible, that is, potentially at this stage, of signing Kennedy Moore to a Track and Field Scholarship, Moore already a pretty well established high jumper in her own right, offer a possible redshirt on that year, 24-1925, and invite her onto a tryout for the LG basketball team as a redshirt freshman, Class of 2025. Which, I think is a possibility if all were in agreement, of course.

Liz Gentry...to Creighton. Not sure we have any major remaining 2024 targets, but could definitely use a true big.

For the Class of 2024 I'd most definitely still consider a major target McKylee Hawkins out of Bothell, Washington. I've heard a number of times that the LG are pretty loaded at the guard position; well, most of the eleven players on the roster listed as guards are also ,IMHO, versatile enough to play the SF (Wing) position as well.

For the 2024-25 campaign the LG will have potentially for the '2' SG position the possible, all things considered equal, that is, in this day and age:
a - Libby Stump - Jr. / who seems best coming off the bench and scoring her ten to twenty points a game routine.
b - Haley Huard - Sr. / if she doesn't redshirt this year. Did start the season at the SF (3) for nineteen games (avg. 3.8 ppg) until she was
coming off the bench seemingly mostly playing the SG (2) position averaging about 2.6 ppg.
c. - M. J. Bruno -Sr.
d. - Lauren Dick - Jr.
e. - Adria Lincoln - So. Versatile enough player I believe fully capable in handling the SG position, as well as the SF (3) IMHO.

I think another addition to the roster covering this position in a couple years down the line is still in order, if you don't mind me saying so, and one of the best I know still out there is McKylee Hawkins, albeit only 5'11" but plays bigger than that in rebounding and transition and makes plenty of baskets. Deadly once she has the ball under the boards. Quite an admirable resumé:

Now I don't know who is or has been recruiting her, as late as it is, not hardly any information on that at all whatsoever in this initial NIL year of recruiting, but I suppose quite a few, considering. Wishful thinking on my part, I guess, but no harm in the consideration, right?

Recruiting is always fluid. What the LG need is depth at post position in our opinion. Guards and wings are a dime a dozen. The difference is getting quality bigs with a PG that can get to rhe paint and create for others and shooters.

Montana has offered 2024 Rylie Beers, a 5-9 guard from Colorado who attended Valor Christian with the Huard sisters, while she was on an unofficial visit. Holsinger heavily and successfully recruited Rylie's older sister, Raegan, to Oregon State. She was the PAC-12 FOY and 6POY this past season. Rylie's other offers include Cal Baptist, Belmont, and Abilene Christian.

Actually, [Classof2025] < https://prospectsnation.com/player/rylie-beers

Good offer. Me like.

The only other offer that the LG have extended that I know of for [Classof2025], is Kandynce Couture of Missoula Big Sky.

Oops ... I should have known that. That makes a lot more sense given the timing.

The Lady Griz have also extended offers to Emily VanTimmeren, Malia Ruud, and Sara Barhoum in the 2025 class. Braeden Gunlock likely has an offer as well. She just visited BYU.

I guess since the big topic for recruiting is getting the 'bigs' one possibility that could be construed as a possible recruit/prospect could be one Jacey Eggers. Eggers plays for the 4A State Champion Woodinville Falcons, State of
Washington; State Tournament MVP. Listed now by both hudl and maxpreps as 6'3" and as a P/PF with Division 1 potential. Might be another possibility, red-shirt a year and who knows? Might even be under the radar so to speak:

Talented. Coaches daughter. Her father was HC at Bellevue College for a long time and is now AD. Soft hands and good feet. We know she has offers just cannot find those at the moment. Watched her play this Spring with FOH (Friends of Hoop) which her father founded on the boys side a while back

Below is a tweet from a very well respected evaluator

As you say, getting D2 and JUCO looks since the coaching change at Minnesota. Such as NAIAs Viterbo and Roosevelt University, D2 Ferris State and recently since, a D1 offer by Southern Indiana of the Ohio Valley Conference. Don't know if all offers are reported, of course, but it is still an open to conjecture possibility untill a verbal is put forth, I guess. Until then...? Seems like an offer could be considered and hope for the best scenario.
