College basketball is a lost cause. Kids will do what they want to do, and move, and NIL presumably can have a huge impact. Most of the top players don't seem to care about getting a good education and making a strong group of friends for life. Mainly about getting to the best team they can play for, and getting as much money as they can attract. Top basketball has become somewhat professional and transactional.
I have less problem with players who have played and achieved for their team, and then decide to step up to the big team in their last year or so. especially when their team isn't necessary going to be a great team the next season, or get to some goal and championship. Like the No. Colo. and NDS kids who went to Tenn and Alabama.
Less problem, or no problem, with the top 20 quarterbacks in the nation either.
