Those things happen. It goes both ways. Nothing is certain with anyone until they sign. Choate and staff have built strong relationships around the State with Robertson, Armstrong and Matt Miller. Choate is an excellent recruiter and MSU has a lot to sell as evidenced by the strong enrollment of almost 17,000 now.

Yeah mostly agree. I think it goes both ways. MSU has some degrees that UM don’t offer and that is something but UM does too. I think it would interesting to see how many of the football players there are actually pursuing those degrees. I think it’s a lower number than you’d think. As usual, most of these Montana recruits are either one or the other growing up with family ties or what not, and that’s the big pull. You are not going convince a Troy Anderson or Jaxen Hashley to come to UM just like it’s pretty tough to get Nick Germer, Colten Curry or even Sulser to go MSU.

You never know on the family ties. I know a kid going into his senior year that has as strong a tie to the Griz as you can get but really likes the MSU campus and would likely go there if offered.

It is not nonsense that players pick schools because of academic interest or family ties as well as coaching staffs. MSU is crushing you guys in overall enrollment. That is not nonsense either.

Congrats to Sulser, he's a hell of a player and it'll be fun to see what he can do at the next level. AZgriz is right, everyone should be glad he's not a couple inches taller because he's a Pac12 caliber athlete all day long if he's 6' or taller with those stats, and speed/quickness.

Payton's right also, not counting Askelson until he signs on the dotted line. He's a good one too and I hope the Cats can hold on, but it's no secret the Griz are pushing for him. Hauck doesn't mess around when it comes to recruiting.

These things are always cyclical year to year. The Cats have had arguably the better MT class the last couple years but this year you can't argue the griz's class looks great. It's great for the state and great for the kids when both programs go after the in state kids like this and value them like this.
