Cats 4-star Recruit Dismissed from Team

Team chemistry is a strange thing. Sometimes the addition or subtraction of someone can make a big difference.

The kid was arrested for DUI last night. Hopefully this is rock bottom for him and he can get his life turned around.

If this is true, two expressions come to mind:
"He was born stupid, and has been losing ground ever since."
"The first step in getting out of a hole is to stop digging."

Marino was a really talented kid. He was a force. He had an injured achilles that slowed him down. Yes, he had an attitude. However, a defense needs that. He admitted that he was struggling in school and that the academics were too much for him. The coaches gave him a chance and I am sure they tried to give him the help. But, he was in over his head academically. It is too bad because he would have been a dominant player for sure.

Interesting because the word over on the cat board is he was bad for the team and him leaving will fix the defense instantly? Go figure.
I don't believe anyone said it would fix the defense instantly, he barely saw the field the last three games.
You guys sure looked better up front against Weber without the distraction, though.

His arrest was sort of stupid. The cop suspected him of moving his car across a parking lot from one spot to another all hopped up on marijuana... Those charges will almost certainly be dropped.

Indeed. About that pass defense though.... :?

Why didn't this kid just go to a JC or the 13th Grade(prep school) with all of the other academic non-qualifiers? He maybe could have matured in that kind of environment. Travon Van did it? Also, if he was a non-qualifier, how did he get into MSU?
