Five Players You Expect to Step Up This Spring

Coach Stitt said that Markell Sanders will be a major contributor at Cornerback. He made that very clear at the recruiting event in Kalispell. Unless there are injuries at Safety we can stop putting Sanders in the mix safety. Great thread by the way.

Then I would substitute Rasmussen for Sanders in my list.

Delaney thought Rasmussen was going to see time last year, hopefully he is healthy and ready to go.

Not just in spring ball, but I'd expect one or more of the starting LBs to step up and be noticed on the national stage in 2015. Fans have been talking about how good this group is and how there wasn't a drop off" after the departures of Tripp and Coyle. It's time to see it. I'd be disappointed if HG, KV or JK were not all,at the very least, first team all BSC and one of of the three making an All-American push....

Don't know that there was a material drop off in production from the LB's last fall, even with the kinds of players they followed. It was Wags year, and rightly so. I think they'll be more recognized this year just because they'll be the focus of the defense. Hopefully they will stay healthy & help get their understudies ready to step in when needed.

we must have some really good linebackers because lebsock is a very very good back up and should provide depth......I think they will be our strength by far on the defense.

Chase Naccarato A shifty slot receiver with wheels...wants to impress after the injury year!
Joey Counts A beast at RB. Hints of Dan Moore this year!
Ellis Henderson Has a lot to prove to only himself! A human highlight film!
Caleb Kidder Up and coming star! wants to be the leader!
Tyrone Holmes He will shine at times like Wags and Biermann, yes Biermann!

Totally agree. :thumb: Was about to name the exact five. Holmes will take over where Wags left off. Could be a Buchanan award candidate.

while I'd like to see Holmes shine, I fear that the lack of a dominant DE on the other side is going to make him the focal point and his production may actually go DOWN.

Not lining up against SEC or B10 tackles guys. Crittenden isn't Wags, but he will more than hold his own. I'd also bet that there are one or two that haven't gotten a lot of press that will step in and help keep the line moving.

Who will be the five step up standouts in spring practice? My five:

Zach Vis
Bo Harris
Tyrel Garner
John Buss
Mike Ralston - changes position

No insider info here, just my considerable gut on the topic.

Who you got?

Do you mean, Josh Buss?

MONTANA: Josh will redshirt this season.

HIGH SCHOOL: He rushed for a 5A Southern Idaho Conference-best 1,986 yards and 22 touchdowns his senior year...senior team was 7-3 and reached the state quarterfinals...earned three letters in football, four in lacrosse, and one in wrestling...All-Idaho "Player of the Year" as a senior... first team all-state running back as a junior and senior...freshman and junior lacrosse teams won state titles, and he was tabbed an All-American in that sport as a junior and senior... team MVP and captain in football as a senior and junior; and outstanding wide receiver as a sophomore...career stats: 2,918 rushing yards for 32 touchdowns, and 88 catches for 1,289 yards and 13 TDs, breaking 11 school records...also earned a letter in wrestling....team captain in football...

======================================================================

Josh Buss is going to be a BEAST.

Well, if we want to experience success this year we'd better have 5 from the following group step up:

Safety:
Jake Delasarra
Markell Sanders
Eric Johnson

QB:
Chad Chalich
Eric Prater
Makena Simis

DL:
Caleb Kidder
Josh Harris
Nate Bradley
Derek Crittenden

RB:
Treshawn Favors
Joey Counts
Lorenzo Logwood

O-Line:
Clint LaRowe
Ben Weyer
Max Kelly
Robert Luke

The op said 5 players not 17, jeez play fair

Gun to your head, figuratively, who are the five?

We currently do not have five players on our roster that are capable of stepping up.

We might have 5 that are capable of playing better than the average talent ahead of them. Face it we only have a few guys that are better than average and no depth behind the starters at most positions.

This is why we are not an elite program in the FCS anymore, why Ewu beats us and NDSU takes everybody behind the wood shed.

Deal with the facts
