They are now down to less 10 total oline going into spring. And that assumes no more quit...... That to me is a serious issue, both in what can be done in spring ball (can't even fill an "A" and "B" line for the rest of the team to practice with and against.....and next fall oh boy
next fall or this fall? This fall, without Stoner, we have 16 total OL set to attend camp, not including transfers, which I guarantee we'll get. So plenty of bodies this fall. This spring we'll definitely be thin on bodies for practice. NEXT fall, we won't have graduated any O-line so we'll have everyone ( barring transfers) back plus a presumably large o-line class in 2019 as Bobby plans to load this team up with linemen. Nuts that David Reese is the only o-lineman we signed in 2014 and he didn't get to redshirt because we were so thin then. He should be a redshirt senior this year and he was just coming into his own. Bummer.
This fall 2018. Very hard to count on true freshman to play oline, so depth will still be a major issue unless transfers come.....so they sure better come as you guarantee.
I never count on true freshmen OL as they should all redshirt, imo. But it will help having them in the mix for fall practice. We've got scholarships available and they're looking, I know that. Always luck involved and more so with transfers. Let's hope some good ones come down the pipeline that want to play here and can be effective right away.
