Anyone can make a conscious effort and change. Anyone.

Are you racist? First, you accuse me of being an elite or elitist. Then, I mention my reservation/tribal member background, including no electricity, running water or electricity, and dad's early death. Then you refer to the reservation as a federal welfare state, showing your ignorance. Tell us more about how a reservation is a federal welfare state. Can't wait to see incorrect info on that. And how is my growing up on the reservation--on the family ranch that was established in 1890--parents fault? Do you think they should have moved the ranch to a different location?

Here's your offensive and ignorant post:

"Reminds me of the bullshit stories of my old man. 'Had to walk to school five miles, up hill, each way.' I know nothing of your youth, PR, but we are the same age. No "electricity, running water or indoor plumbing" on the Rez(federal welfare state)can be pinned on your parents. Don't blame the world."

In his defense, I called you elitist. The rest was all him though...

I was throwing you a bone, that anyone can change from being a narcissistic prick to a human being. Its not that difficult. You failed. I tried. I'm

out.

You are ignorant. I will be happy to point it out most of the time when you post. I looked at some of your past posts to confirm. If you want post on egriz under your current name, better stay away from me. I really don't like ignorant-racists, or just racists.

"Reservations are federal welfare states". Both ignorant and racist. You don't have a clue.

I make it with half and half.

That was what separated it from regular tom soup and made it “famous”.

I seem to remember using half and half when we made it at Prime Time.

They probably tried to mimic the B’s w/out straight up copying it. We used powdered dairy creamer.
Prime Time Casino and Grill was a 4bs.

My bad, I always thought it was same owners but more upscale food items.

Used to be Black Angus steak house, a part of the 4B's franchise. The Black Angus in Bozeman used to be amazing food, don't know if it still exists?

Other than Prime Rib, it was the same menu

I worked in four “4B’s” kitchens during high school and undergrad. They had diners and steakhouses. The Red Lion brand changed to Black Angus starting around 1980-81. The Prime Time was at one time the Montana Mining Company. Some bad luck led to bankruptcy, which is why they all closed for a while. A large food service corporation obtained the name during the bankruptcy so the stores are no longer “locally” controlled. The Black Angus in Bozo is long gone.

We always used half and half for the tomato soup. We only used cream to whip for desserts.

So to get this back on topic, Murray will not have the opportunity to work at a 4B’s during his free time in Bozeman in the foreseeable future.

While I liked 4 B's, I preferred all A's.

Betty's in Polson, across from Qwatuknuk, is the place to go. Very good diner food, breakfast and lunch, terrific and fun waitresses, and nice atmosphere. I like to eat at the bar. All waitresses have name tags saying "Betty".

The Black Angus steakhouse in Bozeman was the dining place of choice of prom night in the 70's. It was behind the 4B's restaurant. Too bad it closed.

Isn't the 4B's still open for Murray to work at? He probably couldn't work in restaurant, it is hard work.

Growing up in Montana, 4Bs and JBs were frequent breakfast and lunch destinations (rarely dinner though). The last few times I ate there, about 5-7 years ago, whenever JBs closed in Helena, I remember thinking that I've come a long way with what kind of food I eat, they both were pretty gross to my 30 year old self. Although I did have the tomato soup at 4Bs, and it was still awesome.

This has turned into an utterly fascinating deep-dive into the many-tentacled history of 4B's restaurant. Bravo and thank you to all who've been able to add some small piece to what really is a pretty complicated puzzle!

I thought they all just turned into Lucky Lil's or Montana Lil's or Somebody Lil's...

Just so I’m clear: Murray is a non-plumbing elitist from the reservation who puts a random cream into some soup at a 4Bs, and who may have taken a black angus named Lil to prom.

Not back to the topic, sorry. I just wanted to add that the recipe card I gave was at one time handed out to customers so they could make the soup at home. It was changed a bit from the recipe used by 4bs.

My boss at Prime Time would clock on at 2, yell at us, and then sit at the bar and drink a pitcher of beer one glass at a time. He was stabbed by a transient one night when he left work. That happened about two weeks after I quit. :thumb:
