Tyler Lucas

4 - 6?

OK! Right! The RB & QB are eligible. But that just makes the math worse. 5 line men and 6 potential receivers. My quick look says the griz don't have enough offensive line depth.

Apparently you have nevwr seen rhe five wide, or Emory & Henry formations. Not to mention this years super bowl.

Can't wait to see Stitt's 6 receiver set.

So......where did you see or hear that Stitt runs 6 wide???? Because I follow the team fairly closely and have seen most or all of his interviews and have NEVER heard anything about that!

Talking out of your a$$ a bit here?

He said offensive players that are receiver eligible not 6 wide. There is a huge difference.

The Emory and Henry formation is *literally* 6-wide, which is what he was talking about.

Im very well aware what the play is. Where did Stitt say he was going to run it?

Exactly.

He didn't.

ABQcat was making fun of what tnt said.

Never said he was . I said that given the fact that anywhere from 4 - 6 players on the offense could be eligible receivers at any given time, 20 players with the title "reciever" didn't seem unreasonable and maybe even not enough. There are multiple plays and formations that are not "trick plays" using 4-6 eligible recievers that requiring running back and QB to be in that mix is not necessary. I gave several examples of standard offensive schemes that do just that for Mr. G.

Incidentally Stitt runs a variation of a tunnel screen , which which calls "Bongo" and Texas A&M calls it the "Rub," (if you look for film) the O-linemen don't get out to block for the screen off the rub - six recievers. According to stitt, "We've found that D-linemen are too well-coached and they re-trace so we eliminate the O-line," There are numerous variations. which may answer some O-line concerns.

6 wideouts is nothing. Wait till they see the 6 QB formation. Scary what it will do to defenses. Stitt won't even run it in scrimmage because he is afraid it will demoralize our defense too bad. Think Harlem Globetrotters running the Weave. Think Cat defenders still looking for the ball on the field during the TD celebration. That's right Cat fans, you're the Washington Generals.

That's really not fair. The Generals win more often than the 'scats.

Gotta love this! The Griz have 13 recievers on the team, and will add Tyler Lucas and the 6 high schoolers. Not to mention that rs-fr safety Jake Mann moved a couple days ago to receiver as well. THROW THE BALL BABY :!:

It was 15 current pass catchers, but Mike Ralston has moved to DE, and Jermaine Jones is no longer with UM. So 13 pass catchers, plus Tyler Lucas and the 6 in-coming freshman and Jake Mann moving from safety to receiver, for a total of 21 pass catchers in the fall.

The Missoulian article linked in this thread mentions some teams that wanted Tyler's services, but I also know that a good passing team, S.E. Louisiana offered him as well.

2014 final FCS Poll (SportsNetwork)

13. Montana Grizzlies 9-5 1969 12
14. Southeastern Louisiana Lions 9-4 1729 11

We are lucky to have him. :twocents:
