Weber will beat Wyoming

It makes sense. I think a border generally tends to intensify rivalries. Michigan-Ohio State or Michigan-Michigan State? Texas-Oklahoma or Texas-Texas Tech? USC-ND or USC-UCLA? The best rivalries in sports are interstate, not intrastate.

It is because of the losses to the Griz that the WAC put in a rule that WAC schools are not allowed to play down on the road.
 
This game could go any way,

Weber is definetly the more talented offensive team, but ??? marks on defense, make it interesting.

McBride did say that this defensive recruiting class was the fastest he has ever had at Weber State, and even though we lost most of our defensive starters, Mcbride always rotated the players on the defense, so I think Weber's defense will be more experianced than most people think. I think Weber's defense will be just fine.

I think the Cowboys will still be one of the lower half teams of the Mtn West, and I think Weber has the right pieces of the puzzle to win in Laramie.

My prediction.

Weber State- 31
Wyoming- 20
 
I think WSU's D will be strong enough to keep WYO's offense in check as they adjust to a new system with players who probably don't belong in that system. Could be a nice win for the Big Sky although not overly impressive.

How many other QB's FBS and FCS threw for 4,540 yards and 38 touchdowns?

In his freshman year he came in started 4 games into the season (against Montana) and got newcomer of the year.

Last season as a sophomore, he was Big Sky MVP.

He still has 2 more years, and he keeps getting more and more experienced.

Yes, this is correct, WSU lost 8 starters on defense. Coach Mac said he thinks his 2009 defense will be the best defense he's had sincing being the Weber coach. Mac is a defensive head coach btw.

If the defense is as good as last year or improved they will be very good. I'm not gonna say they will beat an FBS but I like to think they will challenge Wyo & CSU and have a chance.

For the Wyo game, its hard to say which team will be ready since its the first game regardless of who's good or not.

Quick breakdown: CSU and Wyo are two of the WORST teams in the entire division.

I'm fairly certain that even "Big Game Bob" would find a way to win at least one of those. But coach Mac, a straight forward, smart coach who doesn't try to win games with cute points? He'll win both of those.

These games are going make me a lot of cash at the sportsbook.
 
I think you're talking out of your ass again. CSU was 7-5 last year and beat Fresno St. in the Las Vegas Bowl (not that bowl games matter much). But like you, it's easier to ignore the facts.

The guy s a solid player for WSU not saying he isnt, but come on you have to admit he is basically very average in the grand scheme of QB's in the USA.

He's no Ryan Leaf for Christs sake.

The game against CSU is definetely going to be tougher to win than the Wyoming game, they are a far better team than the Pokes, another factor could be that Weber plays the Rams the week after they play the Pokes, playing 2 FBS teams back to back is going to be tough, I think Weber has the potential to win the game, but I really dont see it happening, but they will keep it close.

Sac did only lose by 3 points at CSU last year and Weber won at Sac, Im sure this stat is pointless, but anything is possible.
 
Wyo has Texas at home the week after Weber.

Thats gotta be a big deal, will they overlook Weber? Will they use it as a practice game for Texas and overlook WSU?

I agree with Titlest, you're talking out of your ass again. CSU is actually pretty good and Fairchild is a good coach. Not even close to being one of the worst teams in the MWC.

Yeah, I'm the one talking out of my ass. CSU was 7-6 last year with 3 point wins over powerhouse programs Sac State, Houston and SDSU. They also beat Wyo and New Mexico. WOW, they must be one of the best teams in the MWC.

Seriously, have another one win season.

I'll let my wallet do the talking when I bet on both Weber 1-A games this year and parlay the winnings from the first to the second game.

Hey dbagjollies - you said they were one of the worst teams in the MWC, a 7-6 record doesn't justify that remark. I didn't say they were one of the best either. I say middle of the road, but certainly not one of the worst. You are a d-bag by the way.
