Daum-ination

Posting those times in multiple events is quite an accomplishment. My brother-in-law ran the 440 in 49.9 in 1957 which was a state record. Daum could very well set some records this year.

Daum had large margins of victory. It was pleasing to see, visually, the distance between Daum and msu defensive back signee Trevon Strong.

I'm glad he has committed to UM and has de committed from Coach Ron Ash's outfit. It's all about commitment. To UM.

I hope Daum sprints for the Griz. Gifted runner. He could be an all-time great. Daum, Holden, Rooks, Calhoun, and Keaton should be a pretty fierce receiving corp in a few years. Plus the other 20. ;)

The only Griz Dalton would have had real trouble with would have been Herbert Gamboa, in his sprinting prime.

He did a 10.51 in high school--and he's one of our linebackers. :thumb:

It was a top-50 time in the country that year for high-schoolers.

And watching Gamboa last year, you could tell his closing speed surprised opposing QB's many, many times during the course of the season. :x

I will always ? why Delaney did not offer Daum a full scholarship? Good thing Stitt made that a priority and turned it around. :thumb:

Daum's latest 100 time at the Eastern AA Divisionals this past week was 10.77, where he won the event. He has also ran a 10.66 which is his fastest time in the 100 meter dash. It looks like he is the fastest kid in the state.

He additionally won the 200 meter dash posting a 21.53 time last week. He has ran a 49.59 400 meter time and has jumped 19.00 in the Long Jump.

He is on track to win multiple individual events, plus assist his team win the 4 x 100 and the 4 x 400 relays at state.

This kid is an athlete and could run track at the D1 level.

Those are good times, but they're wind-aided. His 10.66 last year was also wind-aided. His 10.87 at state is his fastest non-wind-aided time.

Wind aided, not wind aided, doesn't matter, the kid can flat out run. I couldn't cover 100 metres in 10.66 if I fell out of a plane.

It was more like Wind Impeded. I was there. It was a quartering wind toward the runners with a little rain falling. Shitty bozeman weather. Just wait till you see this kid run. When you beat the field by 10 yards in a divisional 100m final, you are Dauminating!
