Speculation only at this point BigBigDog. Nothing is noted on the Bobcat's official website.

Irresponsible journalism for a guy who states in his twitter bio that he covers the team for the Austin American Statesman. This guy should be fired. Imagine, not waiting for the teams’ website to formally name the starter. & it’s just one bigdog. I am somewhat sensitive about my weight. Thanks for your understanding.

This quote is now apparently out of date:

“To be fair to whoever's going to be the guy against (Texas) A&M, we need to get more reps to a couple guys,” Stitt said on Wednesday. “So we cut down everybody else and we're letting (Tyler) Vitt and (Gresch) Jensen take all the reps, one or two, and they just rotate between the first team and the second team, getting a ton more reps. And we need to do that and that will enable both of those kids to be prepared when we do make the decision of who's going to start.”

Smells like Stitt wants Gresch to stick around and be a part of their team, but he may be getting pressure from the HC to start Vitt....?

The Texas State TAM game will be on the SEC ESPN Network. Channel 635 on Spectrum. 6:30 MDT next Thursday.

Texas St picked to be 9th in Sunbelt, out of
10.

Texas St was 166th in sagarin last year. Griz were
143d. Think MSU was 145.

The starter Vitt is a 6’2”, 205 sophomore. From his roster bio:

“2018
Played in nine games…started five games…completed 116 of 191 passes for 1,159 yards and seven touchdowns…rushed for 237 yards and two touchdowns on 81 carries…caught two passes for 31 yards and a TD…completed 28 of 39 passes for 296 yards and three touchdowns against Louisiana…also ran for 92 yards on 17 carries and caught a five-yard TD pass against the Ragin' Cajuns…rushed 11 times for 29 yards and a TD at ULM…ran for 11 yards and scored a TD on 12 carries at UTSA…caught a 26-yard pass against the Roadrunners...completed 15 of 22 passes for 192 yards and two touchdowns…connected on 13 of 21 passes for 132 yards and a TD versus Georgia Southern and 17 of 28 throws for 106 yards and one touchdown against Appalachian State…earned a Texas State Academic Achievement Award.”

It is still speculation that the starter is Vitt. There is no published public info to state otherwise. The official Bobcat website doesn't state Vitt or Jensen as starter.

It’s Vitt...

I’m guessing that they’re both probably pretty close and they’re both going to play against TAM, maybe even the next non-con foe. Let some live game reps in essentially meaningless games separate one from the other.

My take too.

Per Texas State website videos Gresch Jensen is the #1 or #2 quarterback coming out of fall camp and heading into their first game against Texas A&M next Thursday. The #1 quarterback hasn't been announced as of today.

So the unofficial ETA in blowsman is Friday?

Oh, BS. One of the main writers who covers the team announced it. Team websites never put out stuff like this. Look at the game notes put out on Tues or Wed.

Want to bet me $100 bucks on this?

Edit: How do you explain this? https://247sports.com/college/texas-am/Article/Texas-AM-Texas-State-QB-Tyler-Vitt-134715164/

Per TXST website and local newspapers the decision on # 1 QB has not been announced as of 08-24-19. The university is red shirting one young QB and moving another QB (Gibson) to WR for a try. Vitt took snaps on 1st team Offense on Thurs/Fri while Jensen took snaps on 2nd team Offense. Coach Spavital who helped 7 college QBs get into NFL said he wanted some suspense going into "mock week". I assume that is game week. He said this was the only undecided position on team. He mentioned he will play both QBs until one separates himself from the other. He noted Vitt is the returning QB who knows the personnel while Jensen knows Stitt's offense. It was mentioned a decision would be made within 48 hrs.

Imagine how much better this kid must be given he beat out the guy who had two seasons play in Big Games offense. Wow.
