It amazes me that with the popularity of things like scrimmages now, that UM, with its Radio-TV department, media arts program, and vast collective of Main Hall bureaucrats aggressively seeking new and better ways to communicate with the public, that they can't give the Radio-TV kids some hands on production work and live-stream these things.

Doesn't amaze me. @ this point and being significantly closer than I am in relation to everything UM, not sure why it would be amazing to you. Some would tell you that Stitt would want things under wraps - until they lift the lid in September. I think that's BS - everyone already knows what he's trying to do. The U is always a day or more late and likely dollars short of making things like this happen. Maybe having NAU broadcast their game this year will cause some thought to be given to doing the same. And maybe not.

No reason Montana can't be closer to the leading edge rather than the lagging indicator.

I would pay a few dollars to watch the final spring scrimmage online, as long as it was a VOD option as well. I pay for gogriz.com video until basketball season is finished. Something like this would get a few more dollars from me. I am sure others feel the same. With that said, the content and streaming does need a lot of improvement to increase or keep revenue from the option.

It isn't actually amazing to me; it is an expression of sarcasm and frustration. Reflecting a general mood on campus, this place has been brain dead for the past six years.

Athletics is the bright spot, and yet even at that, the portion of it that could be used by Main Hall for promotion and energy, just ... doesn't ... happen.

Perhaps the coaches would object to streaming of scrimmages, but nobody is really going to learn anything they don't already know and esp with 1000 smart phones watching anyway.

It is interesting to me that Scrimmages are quickly becoming their own "event." This one was "wow." It''s own tailgates! Never really thought of it that way a few years ago.

And it could give UM, as you mentioned, a proactive approach to promotion. It is, with that kind of opportunity, to see Main Hall so absolutely brain dead on all of these kinds of things. Ideas never come out of that place alive. Perfectly good, healthy ideas disappear into its interior, never to be heard from again ... except for the screaming.

I always throw up in my mouth a little when I agree with 75.

I just threw up in my mouth a little.

Stitt did not want the scrimmage webcast. I sincerely apologize if this blows the Everything Sucks On Campus agenda of a few prominent (not to mention extremely long-winded) posters on here. But this was a program decision not a departmental decision.

But yes
It would be great to get them webcasted

I now return you to your regularly scheduled bitch session.

I think Reese Phillips will be the best quarterback on the roster before fall camp after watching the scrum today. He throws a better ball, is mobile, looks defenders off of the receivers, and just moves like a quarterback. The receivers dropped a lot of Reese's passes that hit them in the fricken numbers today TERRIBLE DROPS. He may over take Gus in fall camp for the starting job. I was hoping he would get a series with the 1's to see what he could do. Gus was solid today and had a few nice deep throws but is still bombing the ball badly over the receivers heads. The offense is totally dependent on big plays (like last year) with him behind center because there is absolutely no run game to speak of. The running game would be greatly helped by a mobile quarterback like Phillips. The Griz have three quarterbacks that can play at the FCS level at a high level going into next season and have great quarterback depth. I was also really impressed with Cody McCombs and I think he would have seen the field a lot this season if he could play. He is the best running back the Griz have. All other running backs were non factors today plain and simple. James Homan and Jerry Louie McGee will be stars this season and both are great players. I think Collin Bingham will also be on the field a lot and will really push Horner and Ralston (bad drop today) he reminds me of the Sandland kid MSU had last season. Jesse Sims is an absolute monster! Treshawn Favors broke a big run and Sims ran him down from ten yards back. They were dropping Sims back into pass coverage (did well) and he was great pass rushing off of the edge. The defense as a whole is a very, very solid group and the new DT transfers are a huge gain for the defense. It will be tough to score on this group. The kicking game is really, really bad.
I'm not sure what you see when you watch football? I couldn't possibly disagree more on your comments regarding the Q.B. position. Chalich and Phillips were light years behind Gus at the scrimmage yesterday. Gus was wearing #3 and the other two were wearing numbers 11, and #12, FYI. Maybe you were one of the "Sims' guys from last year that thought his running prowess would save the Griz too ?? Just for the sake of not trying to sound like an "ass" I'll leave the rest of your comments alone... :egriz:

Jayziuz, grow up a bit. Your apology is far from sincere. You spent more words arguing that UM was never "The" University of Montana than any post about anything. And of course, you were wrong. You followed that up with your claim that the golf course was bought for University expansion, not for open space and sports. Or course, you were wrong. Your extensive "knowledge" seems impressive judging by the confidence and arrogance of your assertions. Less so when judged by actual facts, and that seems to have generated a bit of a vendetta on your part. Sorry that you do not seem to actually know much about the University of Montana, but why make it so public? Why not take it elsewhere?

It does not surprise me that Stitt would not want a webcast.

However, it does not help the "program." It does not put UM "out in front" of innovation. It does not help the "department." It does not promote interdepartmental cooperation that might involve more students and generate more enthusiasm. It does not help the University.

That's the puzzler. "Let's not be doing anything proactive that benefits the University. Somebody might find out something they probably already know." I don't know that Stitt actually objected or objects, given the questionable veracity of the person making the claim.

But, if true. that's too bad. I attempted to emphasize the positive experience of scrimmages; too many Negative Nancy's to do that.

Maybe it's that last game against NDSU that still has some fans hesitating to embrace Gus. Even if their eyes tell them differently, they still can't accept that Gus is the best the Griz have to offer. Breath deeply Griz Nation....

Fair enough. We had our asses kicked up to our ears last year. It's a new year and every man has to earn his spot on the roster with no prejudices in place. From what I watched yesterday, it will take a minor f.....g miracle to beat out #3 by either of backups... :egriz:

Oooh, an Agenda! And what would be the purpose of said "Agenda!"?

Seems like you're the one with an "agenda" and drag it into every thread you can.

Getting old, can't remember all the players numbers and couldn't read my list because of the rain on it.

What a great day to be a fan in the seats. GO GRIZ

Alluding to that's what he was paid last year....

You are a rather shallow socialist, bernie
Remember that little brouhaha that had you so incensed? To the tune of about 40 posts screaming "LIAR!"

You were proven wrong, proved publicly that you're an idiot and you've had a hard on ever since. Get over it. There's no need to bring your failures to every thread just because I make a post. Grow up.

CV, Box is dead on more times than you are willing to admit or know.
