Freedom of speech only extends so far. Some examples of its limitations are pornography, hate speech, and defamation. Take a frickin' law class. The only difference between the online world and the real world is that here you're allowed to hide behind you anonymity, which will protect you against most libel suits since most don't want to put in the effort. But when you approach the level of some of the comments on this board you're treading in very dangerous waters. I would suggest that Admins on this board become a bit more proactive (like every other legitimate online forum) before they land themselves in a mess of trouble.

I see no porn or hate speech here. As for defamation of character, most people on this board defame their own so....No one is going to start blocking out posts cause someone got their feelings hurt or might get their feelings hurt. If this bothers you then you should either put on your big boy pants or go somewhere else.

It's not our job to screen every post to make sure it fits within the statutes of law, posters are responsible for their own posts here. If someone wants to say something, that's their prerogative and responsibility, and they will be held accountable if something should happen. We're not the police, we're people who have full-time jobs and careers who volunteer to keep the majority of trash off of this website. We do not read every post, or even every thread, we do the best we can, but with this board seeing more than 1000 posts per day and millions of hits just this month, things slip through the cracks. This is a legitimately run message board, and is comparable with every other one out there. However, the admins and moderators of this site will not be held responsible for the stupid things members of this site say.

Big f$%*ing difference between someone hurting someones feelings and someone intentionally committing character assassination by specifically stating that MVD purposefully interfered with a criminal investigation that led to the death of one of his players in order to protect the public perception of his program. BIG F#$@ING DIFFERENCE. If Griz fans can't see this than it speaks volumes of the overall intelligence of your current students and alumni. If they do see it and chose to ignore it than shame on them, shame on you, and shame on your university. I hope MVD tells you all to shove it up your a$$.

Scout.com boards are corporate run boards backed by MSN, two totally different animals comparing Scout and independent boards. Scout boards are more strict because they have to be, and even then, their boards are very mild and a lot more policed. Independent boards are generally better because the members are not suppressed as much as they are on independent boards, plus a lot of them require memberships to even be a part of, and most casual fans want nothing to do with that. You're comparing apples to oranges.

If you don't like it, the address bar is at the top of your screen, use it. We don't suppress our users like Scout and Rivals sites do.. if you want that kind of message board experience, I hear they're always looking to expand, the pay sucks though. You came onto this board two days ago with a chip on your shoulder because of this thread, and it's obviously not going to improve. We understand you were probably a player for MVD and feel obligated to defend him, but not everyone shares your views.. and in this small space of the internet, it's very possibly people have had interactions with MVD, besides yourself.. others just choose not to flaunt it. There is a reason why eGriz is the single biggest FCS site on the internet, and probably in the upper tier as far as college message boards go, something is obviously going right. When it comes to message boards, eGriz is the standard of independent sites.

Actually, Chris does bare significant responsibility for what happens on this board, it was wise for him to form the LLC if this is part of Missoula Media. If it is not he needs to form another LLC for egriz. The mods are technically his employess and are his responsibility.

It's pointless arguing against the Caroll faction. They want MVD* to coach at UM for some crazy reason. I would think him leaving would have a negative impact on the Caroll program, but they don't seem to care. They have an insatiable desire to infiltrate the Griz program.

Try talking to their fans some time. 50% think they would give the Griz a game down to the wire. 50% think they would beat the Griz and they all think their players were unfairly snubbed by UM and should be starting there.

This is a prime example of all of the false claims about MVD on this post. It doesn't matter whose name is discussed, there is a faction without facts or knowledge who make claims that are false in an effort to discredit any candidate. Anyone close to the situation knows that MVD withdrew because of issues with the Cats program. Justanotherfan and Grizbrokebacker1 are factually correct, a much appreciated approach. The decision also involved leaving his program at a bad time of the year. This goes to his off the field value and the reason he should be our next HC--absolute commitment and loyalty. He would apply that here to take the program to new heights. (That isnt an invitation to restate all the inaccuracies spewed above .)If he had taken the opportunities at both Idaho State and MSU avilable to rejected by him we would be seeing the complaints about how he got away. There are a lot of good men out there but we have our best option, home grown and totally tuned into who we are and how we expect to proceed, in our own back yard.
